Westringia Low Horizon, a variety of Coastal Rosemary, is the perfect low-maintenance plant for rockeries, borders, containers and mass planting. This Westringea is an ultra-compact ground cover which, when established, is drought tolerant. Stunning, simple, bright-white flower blooms in spring and summer. The new foliage is light grey, turning a deep grey when mature, adding an extra colour dimension to any garden. Performs best in full sun to semi-shade. 30cm tall x 70cm wide.
Trimming: Trim lightly after flowering to maintain its low, spreading shape and encourage dense new growth. Avoid cutting back into old woody stems.
Deadheading: Deadheading is not required, as spent flowers generally shed naturally.
Fertilising: Fertilise in spring with a slow-release native plant fertiliser. Avoid high-phosphorus products.
Watering: Water regularly during the establishment phase. Once established, Westringia Low Horizon is drought-tolerant and should only need watering during extended dry periods. Ensure the soil is free-draining.
Pest Control: Check for aphids, scale, and mites. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil if needed.
Disease Management: Watch for root rot in poorly drained or overwatered sites, shown by yellowing leaves, wilting, or dieback. Improve drainage, reduce watering, and remove affected growth.
