Peony 'Bunker Hill' is a striking heirloom variety with large, fully double, deep rose-pink flowers. Peony Bunker Hill thrives in frosty, cold climates and exhibits remarkable drought tolerance during the summer months, requiring minimal watering. This deciduous peony reaches a mature size of 90cm in height and 70cm in width, presenting a lush, upright habit that is both eye-catching and practical for cutting. With its dense bushy habit and lustrous dark green foliage, this peony is a dependable and long-lived perennial that adds fragrance and vibrant colour to any garden setting.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade in fertile, well-draining soil. Space plants approximately 60 cm apart for optimal growth and airflow.
Grows to around 80–90 cm tall and 60–80 cm wide.
Trimming: Cut back foliage to ground level in late autumn once it has died back to promote healthy regrowth in spring.
Deadheading: Remove spent flowers promptly to keep the plant tidy and direct energy into root development rather than seed production.
Fertilising: Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring as new growth emerges. After flowering, use a low-nitrogen fertiliser to strengthen roots and encourage future flowering. Avoid over-fertilising, as this can reduce flower production.
Watering: Maintain consistent soil moisture during the growing season, especially in dry conditions. Water deeply rather than frequently to encourage strong root development.
Pest Control: Watch for aphids on young shoots and treat with insecticidal soap or a strong spray of water if necessary.
Disease Management: Peonies can be susceptible to botrytis blight, which causes blackened stems and bud rot. Remove any affected plant material promptly and ensure good air circulation. Avoid overhead watering to minimise fungal issues. A copper-based fungicide can help if needed.
